IIT Admission Eligibility Criteria
IIT Eligibility, Syllabus, Application.
Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are among the most prestigious engineering institutions in India. To be eligible for admission to an IIT, candidates must have completed their 12th standard education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects, and have secured a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or be in the top 20 percentile in their respective boards.
The syllabus for the IIT entrance exam, known as the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), is based on the 12th standard curriculum and covers topics in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The exam is divided into two parts: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is the first stage of the exam and is used to determine eligibility for JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is the second and final stage of the exam and is used to determine the final rankings of candidates and their admission to the IITs.
Applications for the JEE can be made online on the official website of the Joint Entrance Examination Board. The application process usually begins in the month of December and ends in the month of January. Candidates are required to submit their academic details, contact information, and upload a photograph and signature. They are also required to pay an application fee.
